YouTube announced Thursday on their blog that they will no longer serve ads on YouTube Partner Program videos until those videos reach 10,000 lifetime videos.

YouTube says that this step is necessary to keep others from copying content and cashing in on other people’s work and to make sure everyone is abiding by Youtube’s community guidelines and advertising policies.

Youtube also said that any revenue for videos that hasn’t met the new 10K view threshold will still be paid for their views up until Thursday April 6, 2017.
